WordPress Development

The world’s most popular CMS

WordPress is the most popular content management system in the world. It’s used by more than 40% of websites, including this one.

WordPress is so popular mainly because:

  • It’s free
  • It can be themed (so your site can be branded and styled ideally for you)
  • It’s extensible: many “plugins” are available which enable further functionality, including e-commerce

Customising WordPress

Although WordPress is free to acquire, to end up with a site that’s perfect for you requires some technical expertise.

You need to know your way around the software, you need to know which plugins are highly beneficial and which should be avoided.

You also need to know how to design a theme (one that looks good on all devices), how to optimise images and how to manage users. You might even want to dig into the code and extend certain parts of WordPress, building your own custom plugin.

Hosting your site

Finally, when your WordPress customisation is perfect for you, you’ll need to handle email and web hosting.

The site needs to be deployed to an always-on server so that anyone can view it. For this, you’ll need a web host, a domain name, a security certificate (so that the padlock icon shows in users’ address bars), and mailboxes for email.

In the theming and in all of these other aspects, then, there is in fact a fair amount of work to be done in the setup of a WordPress site. And that’s before you have even begun filling in all of the site’s actual content!

But once the initial work is done, you’ll be up and running…

We’ll do it all for you

How about if we did all of the above for you, and set you up with a WordPress site at least as good as this one?

We’ll sit down with you and discuss your needs, your target audience and your business objectives. We’ll advise on design, carry out that work and arrange the web hosting.

We can even assist with populating the content of your WordPress site, and (since this is a CMS) we’ll train you in how you can build further pages yourself and publish blog articles whenever you like.

If you’d like tailored help in setting up a new WordPress site—or help with an existing one—we welcome your enquiry.
