Kontakt Scripting
The world’s leading virtual instrument platform
Native Instruments’ Kontakt is a powerful software sampling platform, for which thousands of virtual instruments are now available.
Some are sampled “natural” instruments, such as pianos and guitars, some are entirely synthesizer-based, and many are a fusion of the two.
If you can imagine an instrument, then with Kontakt you can probably make it—and then offer it to others.
KSP
Sampler instruments comprise a combination of samples (the sounds), graphics (the UI) and code, which enables the functionality. With Kontakt, the programming language used is called KSP (Kontakt Script Processor).
Although we’ve been using Kontakt for 20 years, and programming for all of this time, KSP is in fact a relatively new area for us. However, the language follows a standard programming paradigm and is well-documented. We’re looking for an opportunity to work with it in earnest.
Let’s work together
KSP is a niche programming area. You might have had an idea for a sampler instrument. You might be able to record all of the samples, and even create the UI elements (if not, we can take care of this).
But when it comes to building in all the functionality, perhaps you don’t have programming experience, or would like to contract this out.
That’s where we can help. You’ll need a reasonable budget for a project such as this, but we’ll be happy to work with you to make your instrument a reality. Just get in touch with us, and we can consider the first steps.
